Code of Conduct

Techbayanihan is built around learning, contribution, empathy, and bayanihan. This Code applies to Techbayanihan online spaces, Community OS interactions, Activities, sessions, volunteer work, Speaker engagements, Sponsor/Partner participation, and other community-program settings controlled by Techbayanihan.

1. Expected conduct

Treat participants with dignity and respect. Communicate professionally, listen in good faith, respect reasonable boundaries, follow Activity and safety instructions, protect confidential or personal information, and contribute to an environment where people can learn and participate without intimidation.

2. Harassment and discrimination

Harassment, bullying, intimidation, threats, stalking, unwanted sexual attention, gender-based sexual harassment, degrading or demeaning conduct, and discriminatory abuse are not acceptable. This includes conduct based on sex, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, age, nationality, ethnicity, religion, or other status protected by applicable law.

Online misconduct can be as serious as in-person misconduct. Do not use Techbayanihan systems or channels for targeted harassment, cyberstalking, threats, non-consensual distribution of private or intimate material, or disclosure of another person's private information without proper authority.

3. Safety and professional boundaries

Follow venue, organizer, facilitator, and emergency instructions. Do not engage in violence, credible threats of violence, dangerous disruption, or conduct that creates an unreasonable safety risk. Speakers, volunteers, representatives, and leaders are expected to use their access and roles responsibly and not exploit their position over participants.

4. Technology and information security

Hands-on learning and demonstrations must stay within authorized environments. Do not attempt unauthorized access, credential capture, malicious code deployment, service disruption, or access to another person's account or data. Do not publish secrets, credentials, private attendee information, government-ID evidence, or confidential Organization information.

5. Accurate representation

Do not misrepresent your identity, qualifications, Microsoft or other professional designations, employer, Organization authority, sponsorship/partnership status, or Techbayanihan endorsement. A Community OS label or role is operational context and is not independent verification of a claim.

6. Reporting concerns

If you experience or witness conduct that may violate this Code, use the Contact page or an available on-site/event reporting channel. Share only the information reasonably necessary to understand and respond to the concern. For an immediate threat to life or safety, contact the appropriate local emergency or law-enforcement service.

7. Review and enforcement

Reports should be handled as discreetly as reasonably possible and reviewed by authorized personnel. Depending on the circumstances, available controls, and seriousness of the conduct, responses may include guidance or warning, removal of content, removal from a session or Activity, role reassignment/removal, ticket revocation, cancellation, restriction of participation, or referral to appropriate authorities.

Ticket revocation for Terms or Code of Conduct non-compliance does not automatically imply a refund. A refund, if applicable, must follow the approved cancellation/payment process and cannot be treated as completed until the payment provider confirms the money movement.

8. No retaliation

Retaliation against a person for making a good-faith report, participating in a review, or seeking help is not acceptable. Knowingly false or malicious reports may themselves be addressed under this Code, while an unsubstantiated report is not automatically a false report.

9. Privacy and fairness

Incident information should be handled on a need-to-know basis consistent with the Privacy Notice, safety needs, procedural fairness, and applicable law. A moderation or ticket decision is an operational community decision and does not itself establish criminal guilt, professional disqualification, or organizational liability.

10. Philippine safe-spaces framework

This Code is intended to support respectful online and in-person community spaces, including the dignity and safety principles reflected in Republic Act No. 11313 (Safe Spaces Act). Applicable law prevails where a legal obligation is more specific than this community policy.

11. Changes

Material changes require a new Code version. Community OS records the version accepted in supported Member and registration flows.
